Try new recipes, learn from your mistakes, be fearless, and above all have fun. - Julia Child
Hi, thank you for being here. Let's get to know more.
My name is Khoi. I was born and raised in Vietnam. I got married and then moved to the US. I am currently a stay-at-home mom.
The recipes you will find here are inspired by my motherhood. I have a little daughter. I decided to spend my full effort to nurture and raise her. Among many things I do to create good conditions for her growing up, the meals are significant. Therefore, I learned to cook. I soon realized I enjoy cooking, especially baking. It is not just a task I do as my responsibility, it is also a therapy to keep myself mindful with the present moments. I had so much fun creating recipes and playing with food styling, I decided I must find a way to document my process, cooking notes and memories.
I am an art lover and so my recipes are kept with handwritten calligraphy and colorful watercolor illustrations. I imagine a day when my daughter grows up, it would be meaningful to hand the cooking recipe notebook for her as a gift, to tell her stories about my motherhood and her childhood through the food we enjoyed together and for most, to inspire her to cook. I have been working on this project since 2020. The more it grows, the more I believe I should spread the joy and share all that I have learned for others who share the same interests.
I hope you will find some helpful recipes, especially motivation from here to start cooking/ baking or simply doing what you love. Don't worry about failure. Just try. Practice. Improve. Be proud of your own journey. Have fun.
